Neumann Industries was founded by Elijah Neumann in his dusty little St. Paul garage in 2015. One welder, a couple grinders and hand tools, fueled by Taco Bell and a desperation to create. Initially going by NEU Design, Elijah cut his teeth building custom steel and wood furniture for offices, breweries, and homes. Over the years and at our various shop locations in Northeast and Midway, our customers kept asking if we could do bigger and bigger projects. I mean, why not?

We’ve now built our own facility in Diamond Bluff Wisconsin and shifted toward aluminum and steel architectural-scale projects, such as pergolas, footbridges, walls, planters, water and fire features, and more. But the motivating principles behind our work have stayed the same - intelligent, conscious design which fulfills practical needs and elevates daily life. We love the organic modern movement of the 50’s and 60’s, a framework for design which was born and perfected in the midwest and which balances our love for innovation and technology with the beauty of raw materials and the natural world.

When you send us a project, our goal is to change the way you experience custom fabrication. We’ll turn your concept - however complete or rough - into manufacturable 3D CAD assemblies and help you understand exactly how we’d tackle each design challenge. We will source the materials, get everything laser cut and formed at one of our partner shops, saw cut and weld everything together in-house, and expertly install your project on-site no matter how big or small it may be. We work with a wide variety of engineers, architects, landscapers, builders, and specialized trades to ensure anything outside of our core competencies can be accomplished through careful collaboration. We’ve been around long enough to know that welders and fabricators usually have a sort of antagonistic relationship to design professionals, and we think that’s plain stupid. We need creatives to dream up beautiful spaces, we need engineers to make sure nothing falls over, and you need a fabricator who understands enough of both those worlds to synthesize their ideas into quality, cost-effective solutions you can be proud of. That is Neumann Industries.

Thank you for visiting, and enjoy!
